We're doing a film night for bank holiday monday, DS is mature for his age and a lot of the films these days are, to us, utter rubbish! Grin What are some heartwarming films that I can watch with him?

BlueMerchant, he has the maturity of an eighteen year old Grin

Why start so late - he'll be knackered for school Confused

RubberTreePlant · 06/05/2019 22:42

Legally Blonde?! Shock

RubberTreePlant · 06/05/2019 22:43

For some reason that I can't put my finger on, everything about this thread is coming across as strange Smile

Either I don’t get your humour, or you’re hard work op.

Minniemousejammies · 06/05/2019 22:47

STAND BY ME!!!! Obvs.

Bunnybigears · 06/05/2019 22:48

Ok Albatross454 whatever you say Hmm

DobbysLeftSock · 06/05/2019 23:04

Hmmn methinks the OP may be a little younger than she claims and a lot less clever than she thinks she is.

Albatross454 · 06/05/2019 23:26

Ohyesiam, I have a very strange sense of humour if I have to admit myself Grin

RubberTreePlant

Honestly it's better than nothing, DS found it quite hilarious.

So you're only just starting a film, with a 12 year old, at 11pm at night, with school the next day, and you're wondering what film to watch?!
I think you may have more pressing concerns to deal with than that. Sorry.

Albatross454 · 06/05/2019 23:32

Twelve year olds can be very intelligent, and mature. He read Lord of the flies when he was about ten Blush He does have aspergers, no idea if that has anything to do with it.

It isn't that big of a deal. He has a lot of energy in him. I'm sure my ds will be fine the next day!

OP I read Lord of the Flies at age 7. Just saying....

I think you need to look at your parenting skills. No 12yr old should be starting a film at this late time with school in the morning. I suspect you know that and are just posting out of boredom. Goodnight!

Albatross454 · 07/05/2019 00:00

DangerMouse, I am not posting out of boredom. My parenting skills are fantastic. Also, tbh it probably was age seven. Anyway, goodnight to you too!

Hotterthanahotthing · 07/05/2019 21:13

The Jonny English films,Rowan Atkinson plays an incompetent detective as a Frenchman steels the crown jewels.Lot of visual gags and suitable for adults tooA more serious film would be The Book Thief.
More comedy The Lone Ranger,Pirates of the Caribbean.Spiderwick,The Narnia films.
