I've got some of DD's friends coming over for Halloween - they are all 13. What would be an appropriate scary movie to show them? They have all seen Miss Peregrine's House, Coraline, Nightmare Before Xmas which would have been my suggestions.

Gremlins or Tremors.
Seems so obvious now....

The Others freaked DH and I out as we had no idea what to expect.

Is The Woman in Black really a 12????

SergeantPfeffer · 26/10/2018 10:51

The Others may not be gory but it’s pretty dark. I would have loved it at 13 but would also not have slept for a month afterwards! The story of the kids in it is also quite upsetting- you ideally want a film which is scary but with a relatively happy ending or some humour eg ghostbusters. No deaths in ghostbusters!

Beetle juice also works in this regard- I love the ending with the ghost football team- surprisingly cheery!

So what did they end up watching?

NuttierThanSquirrelShit · 08/11/2018 21:33

The Nightmare Before Christmas by popular vote as one of them had t seen it.

NuttierThanSquirrelShit · 08/11/2018 21:34
  • hadn't seen it, which they all felt needed rectifying.
Orlandointhewilderness · 08/11/2018 23:05

ah that is a good film!

SergeantPfeffer · 11/11/2018 20:15

Good choice, just the right level of creepy versus cute
