Nearly walked out of Dogville. Lots of people did. Really glad I didn’t though as it’s now one of my favourite films!

ImTakingTheEssence · 05/03/2018 21:54

Yes mama mia, painful to watch. Oh and White Noise but that was more down to a bad date .

LaceandChintz · 05/03/2018 22:03

Just once. With ds, watching Ratatouille and he found it really scary (despite loving other Pixar films) so we left

phoenix1973 · 05/03/2018 22:05

Yes.
Green card and a kylie minogue film, the delinquents??

321zerobaby · 05/03/2018 22:08

There's Something about Mary.

snowplop · 05/03/2018 22:21

Austin Powers. I know so many people love it but it made my teeth itch do badly that I had to go. I loved Mike Myers in Wayne World and adored Seth Green in Buffy but Austin P left me cold. Friends were astounded that I got up and left...so was I!

Paperdolly · 05/03/2018 22:24

That silent movie thing with George Clooney in...can't even be bothered to think of the name.

Wish I'd left in the first quarter of an hour of Men Who Stared at Goats. That's a couple of hours I'll never get back again!

"Nearly walked out of Dogville. Lots of people did. Really glad I didn’t though as it’s now one of my favourite films!" Mine too! Love it. Very hard to describe though.

Hardwickwhite · 05/03/2018 23:10

Dunkirk - I got motion sick Blush

feral · 05/03/2018 23:10

Moulin Rouge.

I had no idea it was a musical.

I bloody hate musicals!

elQuintoConyo · 05/03/2018 23:13

I know how you feel flumptastic, that film killed me Sad

FetchezLaVache · 05/03/2018 23:14

Wanted to walk out during Stargate, friend refused to on account of we'd paid for it, so I settled for a nice snooze instead.

Quickerthanavicar · 07/03/2018 11:15

I walked out fo Forest Grump, people seem shocked by this. It is utter tripe.

elQuintoConyo · 08/03/2018 20:46

Quicker yy Forrest Gump is shite. Utter shite.

QuimReaper · 08/03/2018 20:56

I didn't know so many people did this! I'd have to be really offended by a film to walk out of it, if I was just thinking "meh, this is a bit lame" I'd still stay to see where it went and get my money's worth.

How funny people should be saying Scooby Doo - it was 14 years ago and I still remember how shockingly rubbish it was! Come to think of it, I might have walked out of that. I had a free cinema pass back then though, so it didn't matter Grin

Pleasebeafleabite · 09/03/2018 09:03

I’m not getting the Scooby Doo hate.... surely expectations can’t have been that high for a film based on a highly formulaic 70s cartoon. It was never going to be oscar worthy

It had Matthew lillard who was v funny as shaggy, buffy and the immortal line “Daphne don’t you ever eat!?”

I think you’re just secret scrappy doo lovers Grin

LassWiADelicateAir · 11/03/2018 22:09

The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and her Lover

Funny Games (the original Michael Hanneke version)

Mother

My Name is Joe

At least 2 French comedies where clearly the humour doesn't translate

I'm sure there have been plenty of others

LassWiADelicateAir · 11/03/2018 22:11

Howl's Moving Castle (the original Japanese version)

ggirl · 11/03/2018 22:12

Titanic - we were starving and knew the ending
Moulin Rouge- god knows why we bought tickets
Mama Mia -couldn't bear it

Hepzibar · 11/03/2018 22:16

Pride and Prejudice- Kiera Knightly is no Elizabeth Bennet.

The whole film was a travesty.

LassWiADelicateAir · 11/03/2018 22:19

The Royal Tenenbaums

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 11/03/2018 23:04

Fell asleep during one of the Supermen and also The Hobbit.

Walked out of a few including I think it was Fantastic Four? (def one of those random superhero movies) and also recently The Post - dull as...

KateAdiesEarrings · 11/03/2018 23:08

Atonement. I love James McAvoy but I couldn't sit through Keira and Saoirse.

beguilingeyes · 15/03/2018 16:04

Hear hear to the Royal Tennenbaums. Utter cobblers.

Also Armageddon. Great song, shame about the film.

hellocleveland · 16/03/2018 08:14

Like the OP I too walked out of 'Wimbledon' , dreadful film. I just remember sitting there thinking 'life's too short to watch this crap'.

I've walked out of two more, 'Australia' and Not Quite Jerusalem' . I was able to walk out as I was on my own for all 3 films. If I'm with other people and bored I fall asleep. I did that with 'Ghostbusters' one of the Star Wars films and Total Recall.
