Buried ( Ryan reynaulds) the entire film is him buried in a coffin and that's it.

Come on now. The OP asked for the worst film you’ve ever seen, so I can only assume some people here have never seen truly terrible films,

Films like Moulin Rouge, Being John Malkovich, Fight Club etc are exceptional films. They might not be personally to your taste, but they are wonderfully made, acted and produced films that deserve their acclaim.

I can totally understand why some don’t like Dogville but I think it’s a brilliant film. I’m a fan of the whole Brechtian thing though.

Someone mentioned Soul Plane - now that is a truly terrible film. I used to write reviews for film magazines and that was one I was forced to watch. Also, White Chicks and the American remake of Taxi.

Also, The Love Guru and The Dictator. The only films I’ve been unable to finish.

And of course The Room

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 23/09/2018 11:47

Red Sparrow - I like Jennifer Lawrence but that was just shocking, I don't know why she was involved in such gratuitous trash.
50 Shades of Grey - Crap acting, crap script and with some really disturbing sxual violence at the end for good measure. Grim
Braven - It's on Sky Movies at the moment, don't bother.

Paranormal activity

Searching
Sunshine

I was bored out of my brains

Marky1 · 02/10/2018 08:45

Rancid Aluminium.
Actually paid for cinema tickets to watch that rubbish.

April2020mom · 02/10/2018 10:52

Ghostbusters 3 was dreadful. What was I thinking?

darkriver198868 · 02/10/2018 11:06

Just watched What if it works! I desperately wanted it to be good as it had a semi decent portrayal of people with DID. However, it's awful.

ginghamstarfish · 02/10/2018 11:10

Pretty Woman.
The first of the 'new' Star Wars film, a few years back - what crap, fell asleep after 10 mins.
La La Land - and I love 'proper' musicals (well, old ones) and this was drivel, gave up after about half an hour.

AdamNichol · 09/10/2018 12:45

Worst films:
Minority Report - a lot of set up for a rather mundane explanation
Lost in Translation
Frozen (the Disney one) - me and DH lasted 15 mins before turning it off
Jackie Brown - stopped caring who was fooling who
Any musical or rom com. I won't name them as they're just genres lost on me. I like Star Wars (yes, all of them) and LOTR, but I get why people don't.

Films I suddenly feel compelled to admitting to loving:
Gangs of New York - it's actually a mostly true story
WallE
Men who Stare at Goats - also mostly a true story
Fight Club - my angry bible
Royal Tenebaums - what Lost in Translation aspired to be; but I get why people hate it, I only like it because I used to teach film and it's very film-student-y (whereas Lost in .. is just pretentious shit)

Gth1234 · 11/12/2018 18:03

rollerball, rermake. shocking.

Frannibananni · 17/12/2018 04:31

Bad Boy Bubby.

It was 25 years ago and I still consider it the worst film I've seen.

splishsplosh35 · 17/12/2018 04:43

Telephone - entire film was Whoopi Goldberg talking on the phone in her apartment. Last scene there's a knock at the door and it's the telephone repair man coming to fix her phone Confused. There's almost 2 hours of my life I'll never get back!

kttl · 17/12/2018 23:42

The Astronaut's Wife

Rafflesway · 24/12/2018 13:02

Astounded no-one has mentioned that all time cringe fest - Grease!
Dire doesn't even touch the surface.😡

Also, more up to date, Get Out! Not scary, couldn't understand what the heck was happening, fell asleep half way through.

MrsChollySawcutt · 24/12/2018 14:58

Grease is a classic!

Now if you mean Grease 2, I could be on board although that is in the 'so bad is actually really compelling and quite funny' category for me.

Ohyesiam · 24/12/2018 15:15

Crassness award: pretty woman
Scmaltz cliche and 2d characters: love actually
Triggering and upsetting: blue velvet

Loved La la land though, witty and well observed.

Rafflesway · 24/12/2018 15:43

See I hear that all the time about Grease, Cholly, but I just found it toe curling in the extreme.

Didn't even attempt the sequel! 😒

Only ever seen trailers of Mama Mia but that looks very similar.

goforkyourself · 24/12/2018 20:33

I watched Hereditary yesterday despite warnings on here.

Oh dear God, it was awful! 😂

Grinchly · 24/12/2018 22:06

Rarely watch popular films as the more accolades they get the worse they seem to be.
Made an uncharacteristic and terrible mistake with Black Swan. Ridiculous nonsense.

Crookedcolours · 24/12/2018 22:22

I spit on your grave

Disgusting film should be banned
Only film I've ever made a formal complaint about

SaltPans · 24/12/2018 22:26

The sequel to Blade Runner! Absolutely loved the original - an iconic film. I was so bored in the sequel, I nearly had to walk out after half an hour - so dreary, grey and seemed to be raining all the time!

Just about pips Dunkirk (latest film) to the post - a group of random soldiers keep getting on ships that get hit or sink somehow. Cue scenes of drowning soldiers again and again......

sushisuperstar · 04/01/2019 07:16

The new Spider-Man film has been added to my shit list
