Doesn't have to be horror, can be psychological terror etc. Films that stayed with you and made you think.

Mine are Irreversible, the Poughkeepsie Tapes and Spoorloos (the original Dutch version of The Vanishing).

When I was 10 a neighbour asked me if I liked Star Trek, which I did (still do), they were looking after me and said they had the ideal film. The directors cut of Aliens Shock I didn't sleep for weeks. and never was allowed to play at neighbours house again

There's not really been anything since then that's really scared me, even various suggestions on here.

I may be adding something in the next couple of days - I have a film on its way called 'Bent', it's about the treatment of gay men in Nazi Germany and looks disturbing - tbh I'm only watching it because it features one of my favourite actors
