Who should play Jack Reacher?

Inspired by the James Bond thread. If anyone was to make another Jack Reacher film then who should play him? 15 years ago it would have been Liam Neeson. I can't think of anyone suitable now.

Got to be Jim Cavaziel. He IS Jack Reacher. The first time we watched Person of Interest me and DH turned to each other and said 'clearly they've been reading Lee Child.' He's got the height and everything.

Jack Reacher is meant to be massivey hugey enormy tall-y.

Stunned when they chose Tom Cruise because it was just a silly piece of casting. I couldn't bring myself to watch it because of him.

I can imagine Matthew McCaunoghey fitting the bill if he worked out quite a bit. He has that reliable psychopath drifter loner thing down to a T.

Cruise bought the rights apparently so he could play JR.

Worst casting mistake ever IMO.

God yes, I was insensed when hey cast Cruise, bloody short arse smarmy bloke, soooo not Reacher its criminal! Not sure who Id want to play him though, don't watch enough TV / films to think of anyone, I rather like Harrison Ford, but not sure he'd do for Reacher either!

Jim Cavaziel is a great suggestion. Apart from the stupid whispery voice, that really irritates me!
Liam Neeson has always been my idea of who should play Jack Reacher.

Another vote for Person of Interest fella.
I went to cinema to watch first Reacher film and sat in a huff throughout the whole thing thinking "that should be Reece".

I think the casting of Tom Cruise for Reacher showed the enormity of his narcissism, tbh. He comes across as a great guy when he's interviewed but the fact he thought he was suitable for someone who describes himself as tall and well built just goes to show how deluded he is.

Definitely Person of Interest chap. Tom Cruise was awful in the first Reacher film.

How a short actor could play Reacher at 6'5 is beyond me and it ruined the film totally.

I don't mind if the actor is blond or dark etc but they absolutely have to be tall and muscular!

I have just googled Jim Caviezel and he looks pretty good. How tall is he? How tall is Daniel Craig????

Just checked Jim is 1.88m - 6'2 and DC is 1.78m - 5'10. That sounds quite short?

It's possible that in 10 years Chris Hemsworth could be Jack Reacher-he the right build and colouring. I've only seen him as Thor and The Huntsman so haven't heard his American accent though.

The tall guy from supernatural, in a few years time (when he will likely be a bit bulkier).

Morgan from criminal minds if race doesn't matter- he seems tall (5though maybe the rest of the cast are short!)

I always visualise Daniel Craig when I read the Jack Reacher books.

I always imagine him as Neil Flynn, the janitor in Scrubs and Mike in The Middle. He's 6'5.

Svu guy would be perfect, I really fancied him. Tom cruise was just wrong uurrgghh, can't stand him.

Sean Bean. Reacher is supposed to look like he's been round the block, he's no spring chicken.

I didn't dislike the Cruise attempt. Sometimes a character is so right in your head no one can possibly measure up in real life.

Tom cruise will NEVER be jack reacher ! I like the sound of the Person of interest man. definitely not Daniel Craig he has spoilt Bond for me already. There was an actor once in Law and Order SVU who would have been perfect but I can't remember his name. If it comes back to me I will post it
