It's been a long, hard week. Need a bit of levity. We can stream through movies2k .
Or, suggestion of a new series...just finished Veep.
Started Vikings, but didn't rate it.

Try Shaun Of The Dead. I've seen it about 20 times and still find new things to laugh at. Beware though, it contains many swears and loads of zombies.

AngryBeaver · 05/04/2015 07:32

Seen Shaun of the dead, and hot fuzz. Brilliant films, but want a new one really.
Something like the anchor man, or bridesmaids.
No rom coms!

Zoolander? Princess Bride? Ghostbusters?

I've been rewatching the complete Buffy The Vampire Slayer recently and I think it's held up pretty well .

Bolshybookworm · 05/04/2015 07:51

Office Space. An American friend recommended it, it's great, especially if you work in an office.

Rollergirl1 · 05/04/2015 17:36

Horrible Bosses is funny. Or Get him to the Greek is surprisingly good (despite having Russell Brand)

jerryfudd · 05/04/2015 17:37

Office space is good
We're the Millers had me crying laughing
Enjoyed the heat too

Bolshybookworm · 05/04/2015 17:44

I liked the Heat too. I'm also a sucker for dodgeball.

Teaguzzler · 05/04/2015 17:47

Blended with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore is good.

exWifebeginsat40 · 05/04/2015 17:56

'This is 40' had me snorting indelicately all the way through. go for the extended version but only if you don't mind swears!

exWifebeginsat40 · 05/04/2015 17:57

also 'Friends with Benefits' which is refreshingly sweet and very rude and has Justin Timberlake in it.

LeBearPolar · 05/04/2015 18:03

I hate most Hollywood 'funny' films but I did like Bad Teacher a lot.

LadyIsabellaWrotham · 05/04/2015 18:19

Yes, Dodgeball is good, or Blades of Glory.

Zinxie · 05/04/2015 19:21

Casa di ma padre, if you like will Ferrell.

Alpha papa, if you like Steve Coogan.

bigfam · 05/04/2015 19:23

Stepbrothers. I hate comedy films, but that film is epic

JohnFarleysRuskin · 05/04/2015 19:28

Date night?

Moln · 05/04/2015 19:31

have to say Get him to the Greek is funny - and as Rollergirl1 said despite the fact Russel Brand is in it.

Bad Teacher is good too I agree, and Stepbrothers - I love Superbad.

I was going to claim I also dislike american funny films but it seems I do (well recent ones - loathe the Airplane ones)

Can't think of a decent series off the top of my head (though i really like Vikings so I might be good to recommend one)

LostMyBaubles · 05/04/2015 19:32

Ahh you need the heat!!

Zinxie · 05/04/2015 19:32

Parks and Rec is a fab comedy series.

HomeIsWhereTheHeartIs · 05/04/2015 19:45

If you like films with subtitles, Untouchable us one of the best and funniest films I've ever seen.

Bolshybookworm · 05/04/2015 19:59

Parks and rec is awesome. I love Ron Swanson Grin

AngryBeaver · 06/04/2015 05:58

Thanks guys, seen everyone of those films apart form the will feral one. And untouchable us (not OVERLY keen on subtitles, as I find it distracting!)
Also see parks and rec and love it.
Back to the drawing board?

Bad Grandpa?
We had to pause it twice, once because I pulled a stomach muscle and the second time because DP was laughing so much he needed his inhaler. Toilet humour at its best (worst?).

Happynow · 06/04/2015 06:25

Forgetting Sarah Marshall or Arrested Development?

MoonriseKingdom · 06/04/2015 14:49

If you like political comedy you may enjoy Alpha House. I have watched the first two series via Amazon Prime so not sure if you can get it.

It is by Gary Tredeau who does the Doonesbury cartoon that runs in The Guardian. It is about 4 Republican senators who have a house share in Washington. It stars the wonderful John Goodman.

For something a lot darker House of Cards with Kevin Spacey is gripping.

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 06/04/2015 14:53

Community is now on Amazon Prime and Netflix and is brilliant.
