It's been a long, hard week. Need a bit of levity. We can stream through movies2k .
Or, suggestion of a new series...just finished Veep.
Started Vikings, but didn't rate it.

Blazing Saddles

Team America: World Police

Nervo · 06/04/2015 17:13

YY to Community.

Also, The Unbreakable Kimmy Smidt is excellent. Produced by Tina Fey of 30 Rock. Actually, the scene in 30 Rock where Alec Baldwin repeatedly fucks up a video recording is possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen.

ElizabethHoover · 06/04/2015 17:14

pitch perfect?

BIWI · 06/04/2015 17:14

Whatever you do, don't watch Anchorman II - it's truly dire.

ElizabethHoover · 06/04/2015 17:14

agree KIMMY is aces

ElizabethHoover · 06/04/2015 17:15

'swears'
?

are we 12?

VeryVeryDarkGrey · 06/04/2015 17:17

Forgetti g sarah marshall is good

FiveExclamations · 06/04/2015 17:24

If I want a laugh I go for Zombieland, Dogma, Withnail and I (Not suitable for the youth), Wayne's World, Paul, The Dish, or Local Hero (the last two are rather gentle).

Bowlersarm · 06/04/2015 17:25

Paddington. It's brilliant, much needed light relief.

SirVixofVixHall · 06/04/2015 17:32

"Best in Show" made me sob with laughter, "Together" is a completely brilliant Swedish film, but has subtitles obv. "Withnail and I". I never find yank films very funny unless you go back many decades.

slug · 06/04/2015 17:55

I've just watched Pitch Perfect with DD (aged13). We both laughed. Mean Girls is in the same vein and has laugh out loud moments

MoonriseKingdom · 06/04/2015 18:10

If you enjoy 'Best in Show' then 'A Mighty Wind' is also very funny. Same director (also same as 'This is Spinal Tap') and also same faux documentary style.

MoonriseKingdom · 06/04/2015 18:15

Sorry.

To correct myself, Christopher Guest is the link between all 3 films. As writer/ actor on 'spinal tap' and director/ writer/ actor on 'A mighty wind' and 'Best in Show'.

AngryBeaver · 06/04/2015 20:33

God, yes anchorman 2 was abysmal. Couldn't watch to the end.
We are not overly interested in political series, but I enjoy Kevin Spacey so gave House of Cards a watch. Dh not keen.
Definitely try Alpha House and the Tina Fey one.
Couple of films towards the end of the thread I haven't seen. Will imdb/rotten tomatoes them and see.

Bad Grandpa? I laughed at Jack Ass when I was in my teens, but now they're in their 40's, I just feel sorry for them. A bit like the class clown you meet at the school reunion that's still cracking out the same old stuff...and living in his parents basement.

A mightly wind and spinal tap are also both brilliant, as moonrise says.

elQuintoConyo · 06/04/2015 20:47

Bad Santa is great - and it's not just for Christmas Grin

Anything and everything by Mel Brookes.

Clueless and Legally Blonde are both lovely films, not laugh out loud comedies, but happy films.

RJnomore · 06/04/2015 20:57

Has anyone said blended?

Or couples retreat?

slithytove · 06/04/2015 20:57

Absolutely howled recently at this is 40

Davros · 06/04/2015 23:52

In Bruges
Kick Ass
We found House of Cards boring. I will have to give it another go

LuisGarcia · 06/04/2015 23:57

What we do in the shadows.

AngryBeaver · 07/04/2015 10:13

Seen couples retreat and this is 40. I do like Paul Rudd.
