I don't have a favourite line but I recently watched On The Waterfront, a film that really holds upafter all these years, and finally saw the scene where M Brando says to his brother that he shouldn't have made him throw that fight, he could have won and been a really great boxer, "I could have been a contender, I could have been somebody", as opposed to a paid for thug. It had been so comically and badly imitated that I noted how well delivered it was in the original!

No love for The Big Lebowski? So many lines applicable to everyday life. My favourite is "Hey, careful man, there's a beverage here."

Curlygirly · 07/03/2015 16:46

Cardiff that's my favourite line too!

You don't have to say anything, and you don't have to do anything. Not a thing. Oh, maybe just whistle. You know how to whistle, don't you? You just put your lips together and blow. To have and have not.

Good thread Grin

I love Jung/Michael Fassbender's line in A Dangerous Method, "Fortunately my wife is extremely wealthy", completely deadpan. It just cracks me up.

RussellHowardsWonkyEye · 07/03/2015 19:41

Not a favourite, but it does give me happy shivers:

'Tell her....I'll tell her myself, I'm coming through!'

Crocodile Dundee! It's just finished on sky Smile
