Have you ever walked out of the cinema because the film was so awful?

I did, "under siege" with Stephen Seagal in it.
It was a sneak preview, where you didn't know beforehand which film you were going to see.

That Tristan and Isolde one was pants, too.

I slept on and off through that.

Twinkie1 · 12/10/2006 12:35

Yep the 2nd Brigett Jones film I walked out of on November 14th 2004 - may have been because DS was due that day and after DH asking for the 8 billionth time if I was ok I had enough - mind you it could have been because I was feckin uncomfortable, hot and my feet hurt and I felt like I was trying to hold a water melon in with PFM's that weren't really up to much I don't know but I am definately not going to put myself through seeing it again to find out!!

expatinscotland · 12/10/2006 12:36

Love, Actually.

Boak, Actually.

I walked out of that one.

CountessDracula · 12/10/2006 12:37

well if you go and waste money on tripe like love akshully what DO you expect???

expatinscotland · 12/10/2006 12:38

i didn't pay for it .

Have stomped out of several movies aimed at the sentimental overseas market & featuring misty-focus about Blitz spirit and cricket.

Then there was a vanity piece by Norman Mailer - this thing - which despite having timelessly virile father-son exchanges like "Let's deep-six some heads" - we could not stick with.

expatinscotland · 12/10/2006 12:44

Pollock.

Was bollocks.

Watching paint dry is more exciting.

Molesworth · 12/10/2006 12:44

Swordfish - utter rubbish!

bran · 12/10/2006 12:48

I dozed through the second Lord of the Rings, I had thought I would like it as I enjoyed the first one but the whole tree walking through a forest thing was so dull I couldn't keep my eyes open.

I would have liked to have walked out of Hideous Kinky but the seats in the cinema were very comfy and if I'd left I'd have had to wait for the others in the foyer where there weren't any seats.

expatinscotland · 12/10/2006 12:49

I hired Hideous Kinky, so it was easy enough to turn off.

'Before Sunset' was even worse.

gscrym · 12/10/2006 12:57

I was going to walk out of Hoodwinked yesterday but it was so short I sat through it.

Hayls · 12/10/2006 13:02

Yes, Saving Private Ryan, Blair Witch Project and Three Kings. Dh refused to leave during Blair Witch so I had to sit in the car on my own while he watched the end of it.

LieselVonTrappDoor · 12/10/2006 13:36

Yeah, we walked out of pretaporter.

LieselVonTrappDoor · 12/10/2006 13:37

Why did you walk out of Blair Witch?

LieselVonTrappDoor · 12/10/2006 13:38

In fact Expat how can you walk out of Love Actually???

Wilbur · 12/10/2006 13:43

Wanted to walk out of Killing Zoe but was at a film festival and would have had to walk past theb director and was too polite. Someone else did walk out past him and he shouted a rude comment after her. So he's a tw*t and makes appalling films.

Otherwise, I am so happy and grateful to be in a cinema that I will put up with incredible rubbish.

ProfessorGrammaticus · 12/10/2006 13:45

I had to walk out of Shallow Grave - it made me feel sick!

Hayls · 12/10/2006 20:37

Blair Witch made me feel really dodgy and nauseous because of the shaky camera work

expatinscotland · 12/10/2006 20:39

Blair Witch was such shit. That fucking camera bouncing up and down just made me want to hurl.

And the idiotic characters.

Oh, yes, let's go off in the hills on the East Coast w/no gun.

That's smart!

Dumb asses.

southeastastralplain · 12/10/2006 20:40

i fainted during morons from outer space does that count?

boogiewoogie · 12/10/2006 21:41

I DID hurl during Blair witch! And fell asleep!

ProfessorGrammaticus · 12/10/2006 22:06

But had you been drinking?

edam · 12/10/2006 22:15

I wish I'd walked out of AI - tedious shite that went on about 90mins longer than it should have done. But I was with a group of people so it would have been rude (irritatingly, discovered afterwards they'd have been equally happy to ditch the self-indulgent drivel).

When I saw the first 'new' Star Wars film (the prequels), there were people so bored they were actually having sex. In the auditorium. Thing is, film was so bad, I couldn't really blame them.

magnolia1 · 12/10/2006 22:19

Well we walked out of Apollo 13 coz we were randy

themoon666 · 12/10/2006 22:25

Never actually walked out, but have used the time to catch up on sleep. Slept through: Spacejam, Signs, second Lord of the rings, Matrix 2 and 3 and every superman/batman type film ever. Wish I'd walked out of Hostel, but was trapped in the middle of back row and am too polite to ask that many people to move.
