Cringey I know but now and then DH and I have "date night" and watch a weepy romance together but it's been a while since we watched one that we can honestly say "WOW that was fab" P.s I love you is my fave, I love the message behind it and it really makes me appreciate what I have. Any good recommendations? Tia

I just had to google it but one I loved from years back was Jack and Sarah.

Just remembered Serendipity from ages ago. Off beat romantic comedy with John Cusack & Kate Beckinsale. KB also reminds me of Shooting Fish which I haven't seen in yonks.

Oh god yes jack and Sarah

Italian for Beginners. It's one of the most romantic films I have ever seen. You have to go with it, it starts very slowly, you have to be prepared to get to know the people and follow their stories, but it pays off in spades at the end. I was smiling dopily for hours afterwards.

Truely, Madly, Deeply. I've seen it so many times that now I just start crying when I see the opening credits! Beautiful movie, and British too.

Another one for Terms of Endearment

The Lake House for me. Most people comment that they can't work it out, how to make sense of the time business... but I dont care, it is a beautiful love story of two lonely people and I read Persuasion on the back of it and the scene in the garden and my favourite is the walk through Chicago.

Bed of Roses (very old Christian Slater film)

OH OH OH can i join here please with a huge vote for Brightstar . It is THE best 'modern' 2008 film I've seen and the ROMANCE is mind blowing. Jane Campion (The Piano) is the director and it is sooooo good. About keats and fanny Brawne's affair.

A lot Like Love is a fab film - not as well known and also has Ashton Kutcher in, which put me off initially, but it's fab and I've watched it loads of times - romantic without your usual rom-com shmaltz.

Kind of reminds me of when DH and I got together Smile

Oh yes Shooting fish haven't seen that one for ages but a fave!

How about Keeping the Faith - Ben Stiller and Amy? Elfman? Or not strictly romance but Inside I'm Dancing is a real tear jerker!

Have a great date Grin
