I found so many films zzzzzzzzzzzz this year and last. I think I've watched too many and seem to have a knack for spotting the so called twists a mile off whilst everyone around me is all oooh and ahhhh at the plotlines , I blame 24 myself..Grin.

I'd love some recommedations of films you've seen recently, doesn't have to be new this year.

I like most things except slasher type gubbins, not for me.

Second Old Boy - brilliant film.

You could also try -

There Will Be Blood
Cop Land
Fido
Mr Brooks
Quiz Show
Swimming with sharks
Wristcutters: A Love Story

And as you don't seem to be adverse to a bit of anime:

The Girl who leapt through time
Grave of the fireflies
Summer wars
Paprika
Perfect blue

Red Road - about a woman trying to entrap her daughter's killer.

Tell No One - French film about a guy who gets an email from his wife 8 years after she was (apparently) murdered.

Hidden - another French one. A married couple is terrorized by a series of videotapes planted on their front porch.

Mammoth- Swedish film remade in English, totally amazing
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang- Robert Downey Jr in it
The Darjeling Limited- nothing much happens but its good.
Closer- Jude Law, Julia Roberts. Unexpectedly good
The Departed
Glengarry Glenross- and oldie but a goodie
Inception- I really liked it.

Those are the ones that have stuck in my mind

I enjoyed Mr Brooks too Monkey, also really liked Disturbia, basically a teeenage rear window, very jumpy though.

Buried - newly released.

I cared about this character - I was surprised at the end.
