The trailer alone makes me blub - with Andy being all grown up and going off to uni. Can't wait to see it. I take it you were crying from emotion and not because it was so bad!

Clayhead · 19/07/2010 19:51

Fantastic film - lots of food for thought!

MarionCole · 19/07/2010 20:51

Worst bit is when Andy's mum hugs him as he's leaving.

I've already cried at the trailer. I'm psyching myself up for the actual film. Those 3-D specs came in handy during "Up".

MrsJamin · 19/07/2010 20:53

I can't wait - tickets booked for Saturday! I just hope DS1 (2.5) can sit all the way through it.

ninja · 19/07/2010 20:56

me too - at the end I had tears streaming down my face (when he was palyign with the girl). Lucky I had the credits to recover ...

MarionCole · 19/07/2010 20:56

DS (3.2) was rapt, there's plenty going on to keep them interested. He came out and declared it was better than Toy Story 1 and Toy Story 2.

I cried as well. DS1 is the same age as Andy and will hopefully be off to uni next year. He played with all those toys and we still have them. DD, 15, went with me to the film and said she is never throwing away another toy.

TotorosOcarina · 23/07/2010 19:01

I just got back... I was crying, if I were at home instead of a cinema full of people I would have been sobbing!!

I loved it!!!

turnitup · 26/07/2010 08:48

I also found the first 20 mins quite emotional and had tears in my eyes. By the end I was streaming! Why do those cinema lights have to come on so quickly!

What a great film.

LIZS · 01/08/2010 18:36

Me too - last 15 minutes were a killer.

secondtimer1 · 01/08/2010 22:07

That's it - I've read enough, this thread and the other AIBU one with all the sobbing and blubbing. I'm too much of a coward to go and see this, even with my grown up DD's, their DH's and my DP. Damn you pixar.

moonminmama · 01/08/2010 22:11

i cried too. Last 15 minutes did it for me! Blub!

gihus · 02/08/2010 14:17

my 13 year old dd LOVED toy story even more than eclipse so thats saying something! she cried which is also surprising since the only other tv/filsm shes cried at are titanic and the last ever episode of friends haha

BuzzingNoise · 02/08/2010 14:20

It was a great film but I didn't cry.

cantseeforlookin · 03/08/2010 20:20

I'm getting my eyelashes dyed for this one!

Tootlesmummy · 03/08/2010 20:23

I cried at the end too, it was so sad when he gave the little girl his toys.

Great film.

PrettyCandles · 04/08/2010 17:31

Just seen it. Still sniffing! That last thrilling terrifying section (no spoilers here!) had 7yo dd and me sitting with our arms around each other sobbing our hearts out. I can't believe it - me, a grown woman, sobbing at a cartoon.

Fantastic film!

Jbck · 04/08/2010 22:21

Howled, was quite touched near the start too but thought I'd be fine as it wasn't that emotional. Figred the end would be on a par.

OMG, it was really rip roaring too. Best of the 3.

womblingfree · 07/08/2010 00:35

The end isn't really grim is it? I keep hearing quite ambiguous things about it. We are planning to take dd (nearly 6) to see it next week but I don't want to freak her out - she's very attached to her cuddly toys especially.

nickschick · 07/08/2010 00:46

I shall never watch it again - its a bit close to home with ds1 being 17 next week.

Dh threatened to take me home when we watched it, cos i was i crying.

plonker · 07/08/2010 00:51

Oh no, not grim at all wombling.

I don't want to spoil it for you, but don't worry, go watch it and enjoy Smile

...don't forget your tissues though ...it does pull at the ole heart strings Grin

womblingfree · 07/08/2010 01:06

Thanks - I have just watched a few clips on YouTube and think she'll be ok. She loves Shrek and G Force - it's just the fact it's toys that might be a bit Hmm
I will probably be worse than her - I'm not a fan of real monkeys so seeing that one on a big screen and possibly in 3d is definitely not going to float my boat!

LIZS · 07/08/2010 21:28

monkey ?Confused He's not on screen very long

Wigeon · 07/08/2010 21:36

Did no one cry at the bit where all the toys are in the metal melting-down machine?! I even cried when recounting this to a (grown-up) friend afterwards!

Womblingfree - it is still a children's film and and I don't think I'm spoiling it to say that all the toys do make it to the end intact!
