Apparently he tweeted that she was having an affair (without any proof), and the way he put it was a spiteful little jibe about her being a “sanctity of marriage preaching woman” adding “it always comes back to bite them on the arse”
Now I understand he might have an issue with her as I think she was against same sex marriage. But this man always strikes me as an arrogant twat and a nasty piece of work.

I tried to post the link but I’m such a technophobe! it’s on BBC news website

True or not the original tweets he was retweeting were intended to diminish her standing during important negotiations to get the NI assembly going again and whilst I’d never be a DUP supporter co-operation between all parties in NI is best for all of us.

Jessen was arrogantly and carelessly interfering in political matters he knew nothing about and cared even less.

Often in NI it’s the men who stoke up trouble and the women who are left picking up the pieces of the broken lives

Arlene is one of those people (like Mary Lou) with whom I have nothing in common politically, but for whom I have personal admiration.

I have a mate who lives near her, and when I asked what people thought of her down there he said "there's very much a vibe that you don't fuck with Arlene". Seems CJ didn't get the memo.

I'm glad to see a woman standing up for herself. I don't agree with her stance on a lot of stuff but when you hear what she went through during her childhood and where she's got to in NI politics as a woman, it's hard not to think fair play to her.

I’m not a fan of hers, but he is such an absolutely massive prick, I hope she takes him to the cleaners and hangs him out to dry. It’s been obvious for ages that he hates women.

Well, as they say - there is no such thing as bad publicity - I knew her face of course and what she did but I did not remember her name - but now I will! Everyone knows the name with the face and the job now!

I don't hate many people without knowing them but this man is disgraceful.

The court part has completed, the judge is now considering the judgement and any cost awards which will be announced at a future date - no idea how long this takes.

Northern Ireland has stricter libel laws than the rest of the UK.

I think many women in NI of Arlene’s age have a grudging respect for the person if not the politics.

And to be fair to her not agreeing with gay marriage, one of my English gay relatives is very much against it himself and not on religious grounds. We’ve had to agree to disagree (the relative I mean, I’m not in conversation with our Arlene)

This smacks of misogyny. I suspect that men like CJ expect women to fit in with their idea of femininity. The Mary Beard problem. Women who are assertive and sucessful and who feel no more need to fuss about their appearance than many of their male counterparts are not playing the game and so are hated and attacked. Some weird psychology at play.

You see again I find it bizarre that he gets away with this sort of shit as a Doctor! I know he doesn’t work for the NHS but even so it’s bloody disgraceful!

Something else to add to the reasons to dislike him... I bought his "guide to growing up" amongst a range of similar ones to start discussing puberty and it dedicates a full two pages in the less than 60 pages of actual text to explaining to pre teens how to remove body hair. And suggests incorrectly that tampons can be flushed down the toilet. The book is going to recycling now. Just wish I could advise more people not to buy it!
