Totally damming

To all our political parties

But to the greens and Lib Dem’s in particular

I recently watched her Paedophiles in Parliament doc that I didn't realise was from last year. It was a really in depth look at historical claims and she made all the links between the powerful paedophiles and those who covered for them. She is equally damning of Labour and Conservatives and LibDems in that doc at least.

Thanks for sharing OP, Will watch later. Thank god there are some actual real investigative journalists out there!

Well done Sonia Poulton. You really would think that given Clement Freud, Cyril Smith et al that the Lib Dems would have some insight into the seriousness of paedophilia and child abuse. But it appears not.

Watched this last night sonia. Fantastic and comprehensive - the sort of thing we used to see on C4/panorama. Great stuff!

I’ve just watched it. She gets it! And I love the sticker on the corner of her screen...

So many red flags, so many failings. So many lies and such denial. So many troubling, unanswered questions.

It's so disturbing. My heart goes out to that little girl and her family and I dread to think about other victims.

Thank you Sonia for such a thorough investigation, for bringing this into the spotlight. It is in the public interest and the cover up is still ongoing.

And this is why I will not vote for The Greens or LDs.

Thanks Sonia - dark stuff indeed.

I will never understand why there is such a paradox over the abuse of children.

One aspect is that people seem to be outraged by it - but then, conversely there is also this blatant disregard for safeguarding practices that would protect children from it.

I can only come to the conclusion that there are indeed some paedophiles who have managed to get into positions of power, in high places.

Every time, I always think Red Riding - and then Jimmy Saville - and then I think Red riding was't really fiction, was it?

Yes thank you Sonia. Safeguarding is such a critical thing yet it seems to be brushed under the carpet by political parties and on a wider scale by NHS, schools etc
How can the lessons learned from previous child sex abuse scandals be forgotten so quickly??

Wow. I’d forgotten the full horrors.

Great reporting.

I was surprised that even at the end, the Lib Dems appeared to have learned nothing and how Rosy Cobb, their head of media, was being obstructive and aggressive. Prompted by this to have a quick search I found this from yesterday:

No.

That, and avoidance. Nobody wants to acknowledge quite how common it is. It's too destabilising.

That's such a reasonable and detailed piece of work. Point very well-made about the failure to challenge/scrutinize in the face of fears of offending protected groups. Let's hope it gets some coverage.

I was looking for a particular video, but this is v appropriate for this thread - on being called a transphobe for being trained in safeguarding and knowing that male predators exist, and will use any loophole they can...

Wow, just wow!
I'll be emailing this to my local LibDems, along with the Wollaston car crash from Newsnight. I'll let them know this is why I will not be voting for them.

Mockers I watch US political debate shows to wind down of an evening, far more relaxing than news here.

Does anyone think this will sway votes?

Sonia has done a brilliant job and I'm pleased to see Rosy Cobb has been suspended but she hasn't actually been fired.

Aimee asking Stephanie Hayden to msg her about taking legal action against Sonia? Of course Sprout is involved too...

Are they sure they want this played out in court? I suspect it wouldn’t go well for AC.
