It's a job I really want for a law centre I realy want to work for. It's part time and on the days ds is already in nursery. It's less stressful than the senior job I used to have.

All brilliant, but I have a major wobble right now. Will I cope emotionally? Psychologically? How will I cope at work on Friday after counselling on Thursday? Last Friday I was suicidal fgs.

Guess I will have to see how it goes. Need some encouragement!

WillSurvive congrats, congrats, congrats on the new job! I think that's great news well done! I am sure you will cope because you are a very strong person and you are entitled to your wobbles just as the rest of us have wobbles. It doesn't mean you won't cope though and that you aren't strong. When do you start? This week?

Congratulations!
I just recently started a part-time job after months off with terrible anxiety. I too was petrified beforehand incase the pressure made me worse, but I have to say it is the best thing I have done in a long time! I had a couple of wobbly moments, but it has given me so much more confidence. And if it doesn't work out then you don't have to stay - you will have tried it and you'll know that it isn't the right time/job for you
Let us know how it goes!

Thanks Piggy - I'm recovering from (complex) ptsd and healing from child sexual abuse. Counselling at the moment is bringing back the feelings from then and it is costing so much energy. Have had lots of new memories and flashbacks today - hence the wobble.

oooh - how exciting. I think its brilliant willsurvive.
Just try and compartmentalise a bit. ( i work in a newsroom and often have 'wobbles' because of horrible stories).

And if you really hate it - whats the worst thing that can happen - you can leave.

I think you'll do a great job.

Oh and well done for getting it! x

WILL SURVIVE Well done, congrats.Concentrate on taking each day, hour, minute at a time.Pace yourself, and remind yourself that you are far capable of doing this job.Have you ever seen on You tube the vids on mindfulness with jon kabat Zin.Not sure if you would be interested but worth a look 70 mins but a good chill out, good luck.

Thanks Getdown and Dark and Stormy

I feel a bit stronger after talk/hug with my close friend yesterday. He thinks it may actually keep me away from the edge to be busy at work and not have too much time to think. And he knows me well. He also reminded me i'm never alone with it.

I do use my own form of mindfulness. At the moment relaxing too deeply or trying to watch something for 70mins is very likely to lead to more flashbacks and they are too hard to cope with right now.
