katy how are you today

xkatyx · 02/03/2010 16:27

Hello,

Today has been a positive day :-) had my phone call from the CBT lady today which went really well she said that everything seam's to be going brilliantly and that the tablets are doing a great job , basically deppression has gone, it's just my anxiety about having another baby and having deppression/anxiety come back

So i have to make another appointment with my GP ask exactly what i am going to have to do whilst concieving and getting (hopefully) pregnant, and then she will call me back, if i have to come off tablets (which i really hope i wont) then she will help me through everything and my aniexty about the pregnancy and worries, but if i can stay on them which she thinks my dose is so low and doing me a load of good i should then i should be fine, she doesn't think i'll need further treatment :-) wooo hoooo.

And my son today has been a very happy (lively) child so it's all good this end, i have some book's on order if it all arises again, i dont want to bring it up whilst he isn't mentioning it. Plus he has his bday party this weekend so i keep reminding him of that which makes him so excited.

Thank you lucyellensmumma for all your help. yopu have been a life saver last few day's

So pleased you have had a good few days - i am pretty sure there are meds that are safe during pregnancy.

Good news about the wee man too, he will of course have more q's and you will be well equipped to deal with them.

xkatyx · 02/03/2010 17:59

Yes all equipped, i'm also going to ask the doctor for advice about little man as well.

thank you

Hi, i went to see my gp today, and he said that he would like me to try and nit be on the tablets during conception and pregnancy. But they look at the risk and see if out weighs with the baby and mother.

It's not what i wanted to hear , but i suppose i already knew that. So i'm going to have to get off the tablets in the next 6 months :-(

6 months is plenty of time though, and your CBT counsellor says you are doing well. So, thats two positives.

So, he has said that he wants you off the tablets before you TTC, so how is he going to help you do that? You need to do it slowly, slowly - you are on 20mg now? Maybe drop to 10mg every other day, so 20mg one day, 10mg the next for a month - then decide if you want to come down further after that? Slowly is the key, however i really think you should talk to your doctor before you start reducing so you have a plan.

meanwhile, we are all here to hold your hand

xx

oops, sorry - that seemed a bit curt - was typing whilst trying to open jammy dodgers for impatient four year old What im trying to say is, thats going to be enough time and you will be fine!

LEMisdiscombobulated · 03/03/2010 15:51

another oops, i did just namechange im lucyellensmumma

xkatyx · 03/03/2010 18:11

The gp said he wont think about trying to reduce the dose untill i have been on them for 6 months so thats about April time, he also didnt say anything about how or when to start reducing yet. I nsuppose maybe April i will go back and see what he sais?

He said that they would oviously perfer me not to be on anything, but if i cant then i can continue, but i will give it everything i have and atleast try to get to 12 week's without them.

I have babies on the brain, my sister has just found out she is pregnant and im so excited i love babies.

thank you so good know that i have support on here

tried it wasnt great, then was on citalopram, not brill either and was put on one called amitriptyline but have come off due to preg.
hormones have not been kind to me but there are other factors and will have to go back on something straight after birth.
dont know how this will go down but there are products on www.marketplacebrighton that contain 5-hpt but they are for smoking.
no, before anyone asks i do not do when preg and yes they are legal!
