Very quick opinion poll on ADs - Have you taken them? and Do they help?

Just after yes and no answers to both questions:

(a) have you taken antidepressants?

(b) do they help?

i have, and yes they sure did work. thank goodness, because i was bored and tired of being depressed. they just give you the crutch you need to climb back up and start being a bit more glass half full again.

YES, it pulled me out of an impossible hole. I had severe postnatal depression at the time and I was trying to starve myself to death. I was not thinking straight and needed something so I could tackle life.

NO, my new GP prescribed them like smarties. Anti depressants do not stop life being a pile of sh!t.

When depression is diliberating you need anti depressants to give you a kick start.

I know you only want one word answers OP but the latest and largest trial of the efficacy of ADs show that 50% of patients in the trial got better by placebo affect (sugar pill) - this is an established way of carrying out drug trials and the participants knew that there was a possibility they would be getting a placebo. Makes you think doesn't it.
