I'm assuming that it is that that has made my cheeks flushed, my eyes v wide, and the world spin?

Also pacing waiting for DH to come home when I was fine earlier.

Please tell me the side effects wear off reasonably quickly???

(So pleased I decided to take in evening rather than morning)

I've had a few panic attacks today, but nothing like yesterday.

Took another half about 5pm. I can't face dinner, but not needing to sleep and the room isn't spinning.

Sorry, i didn't know that this was your thread.

Were you not advised to ease into them?

NotAnOtter · 16/01/2010 21:45

i was on sertraline for a while
at the start i did feel gippy but only for a couple of days...i took half the dose i was supposed to tbh and never felt the need for the full - but can't for the life of me tell you what the full was...

i was on it for anxiety and panic and it was like a wonder drug

no side effects but contrary to the data sheet i GAINED weight

the anorgasmia ( ? is that a word) was a biggie for me though and one of the main reasons i stopped taking it. It was a constant reminder that i was on ads IYKWIM

i did like it though ....i was under the most ridiculous amount of horrid horrid stress that i hope no one has to ever go through and the drug helped me through ... i remember once being in the car with dp and the (then) 5 kids and they were all bickering ..DP was totally strung out and none of it bothered me !

I do hope it works for you...the side effects DO wear off really really quick - days for me not a week

I have a sertraline script for pND but haven't taken it yet, mainly worried about side effects.

I'm worried they will make me too sleepy to breastfeed safely at night, that I might suffocate the baby if I sleep too deeply. Although that might be the anxiety I'm suffering with.....

NotAnOtter · 16/01/2010 22:04

i did not get too sleepy - nothing like with amytriptaline - they were fine - i was given that drug so that i could continue to feed although i felt bad even though i knew it was safe.

NotAnOtter · 17/01/2010 20:54

how are you feeling today?

SparrowFflamau · 17/01/2010 21:49

I'm much better today. One small panic incident, but that was about it. Slightly floaty tonight, but appetite was ok.

I haven't slept desperately deeply apart from the first hour of sleeping each night I would say. Feel more up to co-sleeping than some nights with just tiredness.

good - it should be all uphill from here
have you taken the full dose? i think fro what i have read that most people do not suffer too badly from side effects

SparrowFflamau · 17/01/2010 22:36

Not yet. Going to talk to my friend tomorrow and see if she will do the school run on Tuesday if I am out of it - if she's ok with that then I will do the full dose tomorrow night.

I still have my prescription I was given on friday and my psychiatrist specifically told me to take it in the morning and not to take it at night.

He even wrote it on teh prescription for the pharmacist.

Don't know if that helps or not!

Flamesparrow · 27/01/2010 15:07

Thought I would update.

I kept getting panic attacks and felt very distracted all the time, on just the half dose. Tried full dose again on Saturday (in morning) and it was hell.

I am now on fluoxetine again Not ideal for DD2, but much better for my psychological state!
