I have my first psychotherapy appointment tomorrow and haven't filled in all the forms yet.

Have no idea what to expect.

Don't apologise [amile]

I would see another GP.

I have been seeing the same one for about 2-3 years and he was fab in the beginning. I couldn't see him the other month when I was really bad and the one I saw was amazing. I knew he was lovely as he had sorted out a hospital appointment for my DS2 when he was a baby, but for me he was even better. He got straight on the phone and told them to sort it out!

See someone else. Your current GP isn't going to get any better. GP's don't like to be told they are wrong or don't know something.

Thanks i think i will.
CPN called me today and said she'd spoken to the pschyotherapy treatment team and I do qualify for an assessment with them. Basically it doesn't mean I will get to see them but I'm "allowed" to fill in a bunch of paperwork, hopefully next week - a diff. CPN will call on Mon to book appt - all just to see if they will offer me an appt. [jumps thru flaming hoops]
You ok?

I will tell you what happened with me and see if it helps.

I have seen the GP and been on ADs for nearly 3 years now. He eventually agreed I needed something else.

Saw a doctor at the hospital who read other peoples notes and spoke to me briefly imo, and said I qualified for psychotherapy.

Had to fill in a long form, then another one, then saw a women who will see what help will be best for me. I have to see her again in about 2-3 weeks and then she will tell me what will happen.

I am okay.

Had a bit of a wobble but not through anything too major.

I hope you have a good weekend.

Bar speaking to the dr that sounds like what i'll have to do. CPN said that it would take about an hour to fill in all the required paperwork. That will then be sent through as my referral and I have to await a treatment decision.

Good to hear the wobble wasn't too bad.

Enjoy your weekend.

My weekend will be busy with IL's. FIL's brother and wife are visiting from Canada (we've not seen them for 12 years) and it's his 70th birthday as well so I'll be putting on my jolly everything's ok face for the weekend, a Sat pm bbq and Sun lunch out. So looking forward to it, not!

Just concentrate on getting through each minute.

You might have a good time.

Just tell yourself it will be okay, try and relax and you might have a fabulous time.

Thanks FBG - took your advice and it helped . Canadian Aunt and Uncle are great people and I had a lovely time with them. They were great with the kids. MIL was hard work, bursting into tears at the drop of a hat - she's really not coping with her life atm - I ended up telling her to get back to her gp's to sort her a/d dosage out.

Got rushed thru my core assemement on Weds, they needed the room for another appt so she whizzed thru it all. Hope she got all the info she needed for my referral, she says she did but I'm not sure. Now I've got a 4 wk wait to find out if they'll see me for a treatment assesment, no clue how long I'd have to wait for that to start if I do get accepted.

Had a wobble on Sat and spent the whole day in a major funk. Doing better yesterday/today. Frantically trying to get organised to go abroad to my Mum's for her 6oth party. Amazing how much stuff I seem to need for 3dcs + DH + I for 6 days away!

Hope you had a good week? Look after yourself.
