My friends Dad has dementia....its getting worse, she is devasted, a total wreck, I dont know what to do

So sorry to hear this, my Mum has dementia, and it is truly devastating. The worst thing is knowing that you are losing them but not being able to do a thing. My Mum is no longer "my mum" as she doesn't recognise me, can't talk or do anything for herself, yet I can't grieve for her as I haven't lost her yet. The best place to go for info and support in the first instance is probably the Alzheimer's Society. They usually have local branches who might be able to help with practical issues such as care homes etc when the time comes, and also they provide lots of information on the different types of dementia etc. Hope this helps.
