done!

done, although the services locally to me are very good; our HV team has a mental health nurse attached to it who does a postnatal assessment. She is also available on clinic days if you need her. There is also a very good perinatal mental health service which has a lovely residential and outpatients unit. I have had fantastic care from them over the last 20 months.

It just shows another example of the nhs postcode lottery when it comes to available services though.

I've signed this. Think it's a really difficult area, though. I had masses of problems with pnd (still do) & the people who were supposed to help dismissed me as a moaning middle-class older mum (which at times I probably am!). The person who helped most was my gp, because he listened, took me seriously & made me feel I had the right to his time.

HeinzSight · 12/01/2009 13:16

lostinlace, that's terrible . It does make me upset when people who obviously haven't suffered depression of any type dismiss pnd, it truly is awful. I'm expecting No4 and am absolutely PETRIFIED of pnd I had it with all my others.

Heinz - is this the one we were bumping before Christmas (it's Waynetta) or is it a new one?

HeinzSight · 12/01/2009 13:22

Hi Waynette , yes it's the same one, I thought I'd put a deadline on the thread title to try and get more signatures.
