hi santa - i've taken both mirtazapine and venlafaxine. i found the venlafaxine had horrendous withdrawal affects. i didn't really find the helped either

hope you feel better soon

Why are you scared?

Venlafaxine did nothing for me but mirtazipne has been great. A life-saver, in fact. But they work differently on different people

that i might get worse i couldnt stand it ive had such a rough month it would tip me over the edge .how long for the mirtazapine to kick in this is coming up for 3 weeks

It can take a while (several weeks?). If you feel worse you should contact your doctor asap. It could be that you need a higher dose or a different drug. I think you need to give them 3 or 4 weeks though. Sorry you are having such a rough time. I know how horrible it is

When do you next see your dr?

DO you have any other support?

Sorry

I know it's hard and scary. It probably doesn't seem like it but it will get easier.

I've taken Venlafaxine and had no probs with it at all. But my Mum did get horrible withdrawal from it - I think it depends how long you're on it for. It only took about two weeks to notice a difference for me, but I think maybe for some people it's longer. I wouldn't worry about coming off the tablets - the doc can help with that - just focus on finding something that works!
