I have just been prescribed this on top of my citalopram for horrible anxiety. Has anyone else taken this and how did it make you feel?

Have googled but it seems vague and also seems to counteract the affects of citalopram - that can't be right, surely?

It is a "take it when you need it" type medication, so only need to take it when i feel really anxious (um, that would be every sodding day then )

Hello there

yeah i was prescribed busprione a couple of months ago, to be honest it never did work for me so i went back to the doctors and they put me on citalopram 20mg which i have been on now for 5 weeks and feel a whole lot better, i am suffering with pnd which i ainly anxiety and panic attacks!

Is the citalopram not working for you and how long have you been on it for?

xx

Thanks for the reply SS, i have been on the citalopram for a year now and it does work really well actually. It does take 4-6 weeks before you notice a positive effect in most people. Mine worked for me straight off. I want to come off of them now but im not better. Don't despair though, my anxiety problems are long term and deep seated and with no actual therapy on offer i may well be struggling for a while.

Citalopram is very good for pnd apparently. A friend of mine had prozac, a very similar drug which works in a similar way and she was on it for three months only (lucky cow).

Hope you start to feel better soon.
