Anyone switched? How did you feel? Any side effects? How was Sert? I’ve been on Citalopram for around 9years and will be switching to Sert 50mg, with choice to increase dosage if required.

Just after experiences? I struggle with moderate depression and mild anxiety with insomnia. I’ve been very low recently.

Also, GP advised on decreased libido. I appreciate it is common with SSRIs but I never experienced this with Citalopram, I in fact noticed an increased libido! Anyone else had this or noticed a huge decline with Sertraline?

Thank you.

Hi op
I actually switched from
sert to escitalopram for a month, but then switched back to sertraline as I felt more anxious on the escitalopram.
I think it just depends which one works better for you.

It does lower my libido though!

Neither worked for me, but a switch to Fluoxetine made a huge difference. Agree with PP that it can be more about finding the right drug for you than the switch. Good luck and feel better soon.

Sertraline made me sleepier and did decrease my libido. It did the job though and lifted my mood and stopped my racing thoughts. I slept incredibly on it. It was really great for me when I needed it but it wouldn’t have been a long term option for me.
