Life can get monumentally shit, so I wanted to make a thread to spread some joy and share some lovely moments.

I'll start:

  1. The happy little food dance my ds made when he took the first bite of his ham sandwich.

  2. A youtube interview with Paul Mescal and Josh O'Connor where they had to work out whether what the other was saying was true or false and somehow it ended up with Josh going on a joint date with Postman Pat.

One of my horses cantering elegantly up the field for his lunch, when a year ago we were so close to having him put down.

Completing 16mins on the cross trainer and stepping off rather than collapsing in a wheezing heap of sweat.

My cat

  1. My morning coffee, every time
  2. My daughter was away for the weekend and I am super excited to see her today
WhatTypeOfAnimaLIsASonic · 22/09/2025 14:09

I love these! @tierralee, can your second one be your cat purring or something? Haha

Seeing a heartbeat on my early pregnancy scan this morning after trying for a baby for two and a half years.

Then… the celebratory pain au chocolat I enjoyed afterwards. Though nothing tastes better than relief.

Octavia64 · 22/09/2025 14:13

My cat jumping on my inflatable hot tub and being really surprised when it deflated!

my antibiotics are actually working and I feel much less ill.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 22/09/2025 14:14

My little parrot snuggled into my neck for a snooze during my video call. Warm & fluffy feathers.

Sun's out, washing's out.

My new winter coat came today, to replace one that no longer fits me. It's the exact same one, in the right size, perfect condition and only £25 from ebay.

Still to come: yoga this evening with a small select regular group of lovely funny people.

  1. i put my big girl pants on and have self referred to iapt. Assessment tomorrow
  2. I refilled the bird feeders after years of not, our neighbour tried to blame it for mice, we live semi rurally and their garden is gross. We don’t have mice. So it’s refilled with no grow seed and the sparrows and tits have been coming and going all day.

My daughter FaceTimed me today - she went to uni last weekend ♥️

Came home from work to a lovely clean kitchen (courtesy of 18 year old son )

  1. My son was the ‘class star’ today for his good behaviour 😍
  2. My baby daughter has started giving proper hugs. She normally only gives them to her dad but today she walked over to me said ‘Mama!’ and gave me a big squeezy hug 🥰
SeaAndStars · 22/09/2025 21:07

Swimming in the sea in full sunshine this morning.

A sausage and mushroom sandwich with brown sauce followed by a hot coffee outside the beach cafe afterwards.

Seeing my friend, coffee and cake out, our monthly meat up, purring cat and the sun

DD cleaned our bathroom and downstairs toilet, I’ve been putting it off because I hate doing it.

  1. seeing my son light up after getting praised.

  2. watching my son and husband play together at the park.

sashh · 23/09/2025 05:12

I peed without pain. Actually these are from yesterday.

I had the UTI from hell, 2 hospital trips and a Dr's appointment with a lovely new GP.

I even emailed my carer with the title "I peed" which gave him a laugh.

My cat wanting attention. My bedroom window is open (bungalow) but when the cats wants attention she goes out the window and makes a pitiful 'Whaaa, whaaa' wanting me to open the door.

She often makes me laugh, I'm on a quiet cul-de-sac and she will often go to sleep in the middle of the road.

My rather 'stormy' 9 year old stretched out on the floor with the cat. Both looked so relaxed and DS was making a huge fuss of him 'who is SUCH a good boy?' DCat was loving it.

Just a very pure moment at the end of a busy day, lovely to see 'em both so content.

Wynter25 · 23/09/2025 05:31

My 4 month old. She's getting proper gobby. Sounds so cute when she talks with her dummy in 💕

I have previous memories like this of my dog (died 4 years ago ) with my children

I’ve got 3 days off work and I managed to clear my inbox today so hopefully no nightmare 300 emails when I get back on Monday 😊

FurForksSake · 23/09/2025 20:23

I had a thigh gap when I looked in the mirror at physio.

I had hydrotherapy in a beautiful warm pool in the beautiful countryside.

RedRec · 23/09/2025 20:25

Reading that Dickie Bird's book of choice when he was on Desert Island Discs was The Wisden Almanack.

RedRec · 23/09/2025 20:31

Oh, you said two. Can't think of another one.

Arlanymor · 23/09/2025 20:38

This is a lovely thread @WhatTypeOfAnimaLIsASonic!

  1. I was out working with the community today (which I love anyway) and this lovely little cat decided to come into the community centre for a cwtsch and mine was the lap they chose - also very rumbly purrs - how I didn’t pop them in my car to take home I don’t know!
  2. My dad sent me a text to say he was proud of me (for making a job application that I said I was doing but haven’t actually finished yet - but I will, halfway through!)
SilkiePenguin · 23/09/2025 20:38

The delivery of things for the garden which was an all day slot arrived in the morning.

The builder came to work on our new bathroom and said will be finished tomorrow.

The cat coming on my bed with me.
