Mirtazipine as an add on for sedation

Hi is there anyone on an antidepressant who has also had mirtazipine added in for sedation/anxiety?
nurse was out today and seemed to think could be an option for me to counteract the insomnia from the Vortioxetine but has to ask the medics. So I was just curious if other people have had this? I’d be up for it 100% anything to knock me out a bit 😖

Not mirtazipine but quetiapine, it helped a lot. At the time I was on Sertraline. I also had promethazine as a sedative.

I added it in for the same reason and found it really helped. Still obviously have the odd night where I struggle to sleep, but they're few and far between now

Be aware that a side effect of Mirtazapine is an increase in appetite. My vet has prescribed this for my elderly dog with poor appetite. It was discovered during human trials but works for my dog!

Mirtazpine helps me off to sleep, I take it at same time every night and never miss one. I Still wake up at times but can fall back to sleep.
I take it at 10pm usually asleep by 10.15pm and I’m up for work at 6:30am. Taken trial and error for me to have enough sleep but these hours work best.
GP couldn’t tell if I was depressed or menopause was reason for symptoms but this helps which either it may be.

Thanks for the responses xx
@WessexPrincess which antidepressant were you on initially?
@SisterTeatime yeah I have quetiapine, 350mg at the mo but it’s not entirely doing the trick. I do agree tho it’s a good drug I think it’s just I’m dead sensitive to SSRI type meds and I get a bit wired off them. hopefully I’m going I adapt and it wears off but who knows 😖
