Fluoxetine and the combined contraceptive pill - anyone out there taking both?

My doctor is unwilling to prescribe the combined pill which I was on before the DCs were born as I am now on fluoxetine...

she seems a little bemused that a person diagnosed with PND is considering the need for contraception at all ( I suppose it's proof that the drugs DO work!)

anyone else had experience of combined pill and fluoxetine?

how bizarre. I took these both for a while (only reason I came off combined pill was blood pressure problems unrelated to the fluoxetine).

hi..i've been on both for years. No probs at all being prescribed them together,both on repeat prescription. Don't understand why your dr being awkward about it. Good luck!! x

I must admit I don't understand either though she also said she thought I was too old for the combined pill (at 35 OMG!) so perhaps the fluoxetine was an excuse.

I'll try another doc at the same practice maybe!
