Sertraline for OCD - is 200mg much more effective than 150mg?

I've been taking Sertraline for OCD/emetophobia since Dec 2024. Started off with a tiny dose, and I've been on 150mg for about 3 months.

Things do feel better, but I still feel so far off where I would like to be. I know that the max dose for OCD is 200mg and that it might be time to increase again, but the main side effect that I have experienced with this medication is restlessness and not being able to keep still, and I don't know if increasing dose will make this side effect worse, and if it's worth it if the dosage increase doesn't help the OCD symptoms.

For those who have increased from 150mg to 200mg, did you notice a difference?

I don't take it for OCD but have been on 200mg for years now. I didn't notice an increase in side effects when I increased but I did find it more effective at controlling my moods.

My son went up to 200mg but then settled on 150mg. His ocd is much better but he is having therapy too. I think its a case of seeing what it feels like for you. Son is under the Maudsley in London, which is the top place for ocd and they said 200 was optimum dose.

Ps its more tiredness for my son, on 200mg he felt zoned out. He struggles a lot with tiredness but having ocd is exhausting so whether its the Seetraline that is causing it I dont know.
Sending love. Ocd is such a hard thing to deal with xx

Thanks both. I've gone up to 200mg without any additional side effects (not noticing much improvement in mood either, but I'll give it a chance!)
