So I had my first therapy assessment today and I'm really worried I'm feeling down from mental and emotional abuse from my relationship with my children's dad that I got out of they asked my children's names DOB and school ?
im paranoid that social services will be involve I don't understand why they asked for it all there is no harm to them

Depending on what you have discussed with them it may be that they want to just check everything is okay, that your children are safe and that you as a family don’t need any extra support. Try not to worry OP x

The assessment was mainly just about me and how I want to heal from it all
I have had suicidal thoughts like once every 3 months but told them not like I’m going to act up on them more just I don’t want to be here experiencing my feelings and I think of my children and it makes me feel better etc

that’s probs the worst thing I said what is a positive I want to be there for my kids

If you’ve expressed thoughts of suicide and are the only adult in the house with your children it may be that they just want to check up and make sure everything is okay and see if any additional support is needed. As I say just try not to worry x

It's standard practice in the NHS therapies service i work in. It doesn't mean anything will be done with the information unless there are significant risk or safeguarding concerns. Sometimes we contact health visitors/other services if we think they would offer helpful support but that's only after it's been discussed and agreed with the client. It's just so we've got the information if there's an emergency situation so try not to worry about it.
