Sertraline dose increase - do I need to see doctor

I am currently taking 100mg sertraline and want to increase to 150mg. I called the doctor yesterday and they have given me an appointment to go in and discuss, but the appointment is 1 month away and I want to increase now. Is it a good idea to just increase my dose whilst I wait for the appointment? I have a repeat prescription for my 100mg so shouldn’t run out. Or is there a reason I need the doctor to agree it? I don’t think it’ll be an issue as I have no side affects and at my last appointment they said to get in touch if I want to increase.

When I needed to do this I dropped a letter into the GP, saying why I needed my drugs increased and by how much. I had a new prescription issued within two days

Thank you! I managed to get in touch with them and have an appointment next week now.
