stripeymama · 02/05/2008 23:17

Oh they are cunts. I fully sympathise having had almost exactly the same problem this week and spending most of yesterday weeping at the council office.

Can you get a Social Fund loan as an interim measure?

stripeymama · 02/05/2008 23:18

And can I give you some virtual gin?

FAWKEOFF · 02/05/2008 23:18

im awake madamez....have they explained why they cancelled the cheque????

VeniVidiVickiQV · 02/05/2008 23:18

Calm down.

Calm down.

And calm down

its 11.15pm at night, you cant do much about your cancelled cheque at this time of night. Do yourself a favour and take yourself off to bed, and get up early tomorrow and do some ringing around.

Do you work?

FromGirders · 02/05/2008 23:18

Things always seem worse at this time of night when you can't do anything about it. I'm sure you'll get through this, you always seem so strong! thou art a tough cookie!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 02/05/2008 23:20

Ah I see

Can we do anything to help you madamez ?

Getting some sleep seems sensible right now.

We can brainstorm in the morning if you like.

lilolilmanchester · 02/05/2008 23:22

Hi Madamez, you're usually the one giving out the sound advice, so happy to help u if i can (tho about to go to bed)

madamez · 02/05/2008 23:23

I dont know what they have done with the cueque, paid it in, it should have lceared today, it hasn't and the mini-statement lists it as 'CUI' which means something wrong and of course I cant get hold of anyone or do anything till tuesday. and ok we won;t starve and will still get our weekend away cos its paid for but sometimes it just all gets a bit much because there is always something wrong with the money and things not paid or not paid on time or we will pay next week or whatever and i am so tired and my skin is just crawling off with the psoriasis which is spreading and spreading and I shout at my darling ds more than I should and really I am just having a right fucking moment and should shut up and get a grip, sorry everyone, will blow nose, eat some chocolate and go to bed in a minute.

S1ur · 02/05/2008 23:23

It is shit. You don't have to be big and strong all the time sometimes actually I just feel crap too.

You know that you'll work it out though, and tomorrow it'll be more manageable even though its fucking hard.

I'd give you a hug if I were that kind a gal.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 02/05/2008 23:24
Sad
stripeymama · 02/05/2008 23:24

It can be sorted out. Not til after the Bank Holiday - but it really can.

They do this, and its a pita, but its ok.

Are you due to pay the rent imminently?

Try not to panic cos it never ever helps. Offload to us!

stripeymama · 02/05/2008 23:26

The stress of this kinda thing does make one very snappy with dc indeed.

Don't feel too bad about it - you are human, and they are tough. Its so so hard to bear the constant strain of no money all on your own, I know.

You are a great mother and you know it.

FromGirders · 02/05/2008 23:27

drink lots of water, and breathe . . .

madamez · 02/05/2008 23:30

Have taken several deep breaths, going to go and pack bag for weekend away - will probably pop back on for last once-round the threads before bed. Thanks for all virtual slaps on back and kindnesses

Money is one of the most depressing things when you don't have it. It rules your every moment and every thought is against a backdrop of but can I afford that, will that be more or less expensive. It occupies.

I empathise and am here if you ever want to chat it through.

Try not to bring other baggage into money worries is my thoughts. Snapping at dcs and health all get wrapped up into one big stress otherwise.

Ah fuck it

hugs

stripeymama · 02/05/2008 23:31

Enjoy your weekend away!

gigglewitch · 02/05/2008 23:40

money is such a blardy pita. Grrr.
Never mind this stingy lot offering you water - put some blardy alcohol with it

you help so many people on here, you really deserve the lot of us to get round there and sort this soddin lot out for you.

Try n enjoy your weekend away, sod the lot of it til you come back, there are some things you just can't budge and a financial matter on a bank hol weekend is one of 'em.

Slur speaks good sense...
Ah fuckit etc
And hugs from me too

FromGirders · 02/05/2008 23:41

Have a great weekend, and don't think about anything worrying until Tuesday!

1066andallthat · 02/05/2008 23:52

On a last cup of tea, here, and offering sympathy, too. Money is the one of the few things that reduces me to tears - I work so hard, budget and it is still totally impossible.

Totally agree with everyone else - file to a far corner of brain, go and have fun and try to sort on Tuesday.

madamez · 02/05/2008 23:57

Thank you all , sorry for being such a great big wuss all of a sudden. Am feeling better now, contemplating sea air, lots of dancing etc. (and am just having quick scrap on other thread which will also make me feel better)
