@Bumblebeedotty

Community CPN here Smile

I now make sure that for my clients who dont want inpatient admission that i complete an advance statement with them .

Please do this.

It is so important that you have your wishes and voice captured and documented.

For many of my women who have trauma histories inpatient admission would be re-traumatising and could actually heighten risks.

Please have a really open discussion with your CPN about you want and need.

Your CPN needs to involve her team in whether there is a need for a MHAA .

It may be her opinion that admission is necessary.... but her seniors and the psychiatrists may think otherwise.

Be brave and ask her questions about who she is involving in her decision making.

Thanks IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls, I have an advance statement & decision, my old care coordinator got me to do it years ago after a bad episode, when I had no insight, it says no to hospital & why, it would make me worse in so many ways, especially as my medication needs sorting (but that will make me worse in short term), that’s the reason I’m in this mess, but I can’t make many decisions & my advance decision refuses most medications they’d want to use, well everything left, bar one which I don’t know. I don’t want to be made to take stuff I don’t want to. I have no idea what to do. My advance statement says i want crisis team, but they’ve said no risks too high. I don’t feel safe in hospitals & I really don’t want to go, but they do know that, so hopefully they’ll find a better solution, but CMHT are already giving such a high level of support. I don’t know. Thank you so much for your help you are totally right in what you say.

Thank you I will find out who they are consulting. Hopefully this won’t happen, it’s not what I expected at all

I hope you get some answers today. The unknown is often scarier than the reality x

Thanks Scutterbug, my sister has said I could stay with her for a bit & try that if it’s an option.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you OP. Let us know how you get on xx

Bumblebeedotty · 12/11/2024 15:06

Thank you both, no idea what’s happening. A medication review has now been raised, but that’s not going to help my case. Not sure what this means, whether the psychiatrist sees me or not?

I would assume you will be seen by the psych or have a telephone appointment to discuss your medication. That is essentially what hospital would do too if you were in there.

Bumblebeedotty · 12/11/2024 15:26

My diagnosis is completely medication dependent so hopefully they can come up with a plan that doesn’t involve hospital

Thanks Scutterbug. Was writing my message as you sent yours. Thank you that’s what I assumed too.
