I've been on citalopram for several years now but over the past couple of years my mood has really slumped- I have zero interest in self care, hobbies and everything seems like so much effort. Just wondering has anyone change from citalopram to Prozac as research I've read seems to suggest Prozac has a more energising effect

I switched from citalopram to Prozac a while back, and it did give me a boost of energy and motivation. It's different for everyone, but for me, the change really helped with those low moods and lack of interest in things. Maybe talk to your doc about it and see if it's worth a shot for you!

I tried citalopram but couldn't take it as I had an allergy to it (plus it made me feel awful).

Prozac worked for me pretty much immediately!

I found Prozac a lot more activating & energising. But don't mix with booze!

I tried citalopram and sertraline and felt awful with both. Fluoxitine (Prozac) worked virtually overnight.

That's really reassuring
I'm hoping it does the trick I've had depression for so long but never felt this bad
