No help for mental health

Just wanted to come on here to say how disgusted I am by the lack of help for Mental Health from NHS.
After going through a break down and being suicidal for many months I can honestly say there is no help out there.
My experiences
Being left in A and E for 12 hours suicidal and in a total mess then sent home by the mental health team
Dealing with the crisis team who are beyond useless. Never seeing the same person dealing with staff who could barely speak English and cannot relate in any way to mental Health issues.
Given wrong medication that left me suicidal with no monitoring in place which meant a second visit to A and E.
General lack of after care and no real support going through major mental Health crisis
I am now trying to get better on my own and am not taking meds as they have all made me feel worse and I have zero trust in the NHS.
Just wanted to say to anyone with mental Health issues I feel so much for you there is no real help out there unless you can afford private.
It really is a national disgrace and even if I was suicidal again my experiences would never make me reach out for help to the NHS again.

It's not sticking the boot in. It's dealing with reality. There are so, so many people complaining about the state of the NHS. And so many of them voted for the destruction or stood by and did zero as other people voted for it.

The harsh reality is that NHS funding has been cut to the bone. Also, despite knowing that Brexit was coming since 2016, we've done nothing to turn the thousands of kids we cast on to the rubbish heap of low-paid, unstable hospitality and retail work into NHS workers. Our system is still set up to steal European workers trained at their own taxpayers' expense, but those workers aren't coming anymore because of Brexit. We don't pay to provide training for our own people so there are staff shortages.

We're in a perfect storm of a population that has a really shocking problem with mental health because of poor parenting techniques and life under austerity. Plus austerity cuts to the NHS. Plus Brexit cuts to NHS staff. It is what it is, but what it is NOT is the fault of the NHS.

Blaming the NHS is what readers of the likes of the Daily Mail have been told to do and that is not solving the problems because the problems are not the fault of the NHS. We are in a crisis and need people to deal with reality if we are to have any hope of solving it.

Mmmhmmm, and what does all that have to do with anything?

If I rant about how terrible the potholes are on my local roads and that they've damaged my car, say that the markings have worn away and it's unsafe, explain how the lack of road signs means I got totally lost and the degradation meant I couldn't complete a journey I needed to make, I'm not blaming the fucking road, am I?

And it would be a bit weird to ask me how many times I went on fruitless placard-waving slogan-yelling jollies which 99 times out of 100 do nothing but assuage the protesters' feelings.

I have to agree. I, like you, had a traumatic childhood. I've never been formally diagnosed, as its been diagnosed as pnd, anxiety, etc, however I believe I have complex PTSD, as well as other undiagnosed mental health issues, as a result.

About 12 months ago I once again self referred to talking therapies, for want of anything else to do (single Mum, certainly no funds for private care). I begged for something more than the 6 week cbt courses I'd been offered before, as they'd not even come close to helping. I was refused as I wasn't considered in need enough.

I'm 34 and exhausted with feeling like everyday is a battle.

Otherwise. I don't know what else to say to you. It really is a case of those who have money can access support, those without have to muddle on as best they can.
