When do you get admitted as an inpatient?

I'm just wondering when someone gets admitted as an inpatient.

I've had serious issues with depression and suicidal thoughts etc. At risk/planning to harming myself. I didn't tell the crisis team or maybe I did but they could talk me around.

Just wondering at what point would I be admitted?

I'm sorry that things are so overwhelming at the moment. Do you want to be admitted, or are you trying to avoid it?

To be completely honest the system is broken there's almost no bed spaces anywhere and it doesn't tend to be until after someone has attempted that they actually get admitted.

Definitely reach out to the crisis team, your GP and if you're feeling really at risk A&E

I was admitted when I actively tried to take my life. I think the rule of thumb is that if you present so much of a risk to yourself or others that you cannot be managed by the community team or crisis team
