Because I'm old (71) school for me was a long time ago now, but I don't recall anyone being described as "gay"...boy or girl. The girls played tennis, athletics and/or hockey and the boys played cricket, athletics or rugby.
I don't recall any confusion about who was a boy or who was a girl. There were some "special needs" children, of course, but there was never any doubt about what sex we were. Indeed, there was no discussion about it because there was never any doubt.
No one raged about being he,she or it, let alone they, them or wishing to be known as a cat or a mushroom!!!
I've never heard such a load of nonsense in my life!
I cannot believe these ideals are being taught at school, are they?
So these children have got to get their ideas from somewhere/someone.
Parents???????
Please comment.....

Mac11 · 05/08/2023 07:44

It's not MY mental health issue that concerns me.

"They [Young People] have exalted notions, because they have not been humbled by life or learned its necessary limitations; moreover, their hopeful disposition makes them think themselves equal to great things and that means having exalted notions. They would always rather do noble deeds than useful ones: Their lives are regulated more by moral feeling than by reasoning all their mistakes are in the direction of doing things excessively and vehemently. They overdo everything -- they love too much, hate too much, and the same with everything else.
(Aristotle)"

"The world is passing through troublous times. The young people of today think of nothing but themselves. They have no reverence for parents or old age. They are impatient of all restraint. They talk as if they knew everything, and what passes for wisdom with us is foolishness with them. As for the girls, they are forward, immodest and unladylike in speech, behavior and dress."
(From a sermon preached by Peter the Hermit in A.D. 1274)

Nothing changes, does it?? 😁

Just typed a load and lost it so trying again!
So true! Xx Youth is wasted on the young! However we,as adults, have a duty of care.
Yesterday's newspaper leads with " children of 7 to get NHS trans treatment!" Further in the article states that the now defunct Tavistock clinic were receiving referrals of as many as 3 kids per week. under the age of 7yrs. A whistle blower doctor complained, thank goodness. Some kids are barely out of nappies! Sometimes mental health problems aren't detected until further on in their lives. By then, they could be taking irreversible medicines. What about the parents who are cross dressing their kids because they wanted a girl and got a boy?
I do NOT believe that the NHS was designed for this. What about people in intractable pain because they need a new hip so they can continue to walk or die a reasonably comfortable death?
I do agree that the mental health department is the cinderella service and needs more help but now we get into politics and that's another ball game!! But please save the kids from themselves!
