Can CMHT spring a mental health act assessment?

So I saw the junior doctor from my CMHT yesterday. She did some physical tests including an ecg. Suggested some other medication but told me to think about it because she wanted to see me again along with the consultant psychiatrist tomorrow?!? Wrote me a prescription for 7 days but insisted I still attend tomorrow if I could. What would this be for? Can they spring a MHAA on me without telling me?

I would say it's unlikely but the situation seems a bit odd - did the doctor explain any more?

She said it was to talk through hospital day wards? Possibly. I'm not exactly sure, I asked a couple of times but not much was going in at the time when she was explaining it to me. I'm just concerned that she asked me to see her and the consultant psychiatrist together tomorrow and I don't know what to expect. Could it be just to talk through other options maybe?

How did you get on today?

@Rustnot ok actually, consultant wanted to talk through the option of a community recovery service and see if it's something I would be open to. Was far less terrifying than I was expecting.
