Something I'm worrying about.

I'm sorry if this question seems strange or pointless.

Do you think it would it be possible to get a small cut (top layers of skin scraped off a very small area, not a stab) on your finger from jagged packaging materials or broken glass, while wearing pretty flimsy disposable gloves, and for the gloves to remain intact? No tears in them anywhere, and no blood on or in the gloves (although only a tiny amount of blood anyway, first noticed after washing hands with soap for 10-15 minutes after handling materials).

Gloves are very thin rustly plastic, like those shown in the photo. Would you expect the glove to be damaged if the wound happened while wearing it?

I'm not going to look at the photos because this would be fuelling your OCD. Be honest with yourself about that:

If they are in tact then you'd be reassured a minute and then move on to another worry.

If they're not in tact then what? You panic? And what? nothing good would come of knowing that.

Stop it please for your own sake.

I know that reassurance is the worst thing someone can do (and I suffer badly from anxiety, especially health anxiety)
But those gloves are absolutely fine.
I suggest talking to your GP about sertraline. I also have OCD and it helps immensely.

I have been absolutely honest about the fact that this is OCD and I am seeking reassurance. I was also being honest when I said that seeking reassurance from others is something I never usually do, but that I just wanted someone to look at the pictures today and give a straightforward answer to my question. Thanks for the replies, even if most didn't do that.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with those gloves. You cut yourself somewhere else, on something else. You probably scratched yourself with your own nail or something, I'm forever doing that.

Trying to get reassurance is only going to make things worse in the long run. Stay with the anxious feelings and learn to manage them. This reaction is extreme. You are ok.

Is there contaminated medical equipment in your bin? Where does your logical mind tell you these prions have come from?
