Hi All,

When do you know it’s time to change ADs? I was on 50mg sertraline for 6 weeks 75mg for 2 weeks and been on 100mg for 6 days but I honestly don’t feel the side effects have ever gone. I am really lightheaded/drunk feeling, short of breath and feel so weak and drained. My anxiety has eased a little but the side effects are really effecting my life.

@20DigitCombination Thank you for that. I'm getting very small windows of peace but most of the time it feels like I'm not even comfortable in my own skin. It's a horrible feeling. Am going to try to get to 8 weeks but can't see me sticking it any longer unless there's a big change for the better. Thanks for replying

@MynameisTuesday my turnaround with symptoms was after I swapped the time of day I took it. I initially couldn't sleep and was quite spaced out. I now sleep better than ever before but have lots of vivid dreams and nightmares.

MynameisTuesday about 4years now

@20DigitCombination I'm guessing you take it early on in the day then now? I was thinking about switching to night to try to sleep through the side effects but not sure what to do
@Mollyplop999 It sounds like you are well established with it after 4 years. I'd definitely check those other threads as there is some advice on there about teeth guards and other tips, from what I remember

20DigitCombination · 28/09/2022 19:25

@MynameisTuesday yes, I swapped from evening to morning and that made a big difference to me. Maybe the opposite would work for you?

MynameisTuesday · 28/09/2022 20:24

@20DigitCombination It might be worth a try. Thanks for the tip.
Do you double up on the day or do you skip a dose, if you see what I mean?

20DigitCombination · 28/09/2022 20:35

@MynameisTuesday I think I doubled up - as in one dose in the evening, the next dose in the morning and then every morning after that. Not saying that's good medical advice though!!

MynameisTuesday · 28/09/2022 20:36

@20DigitCombination That was brave! Thanks for replying. I'll have to have a think about how best to do it and maybe have a chat with the doc next catch up. Best wishes

OP you've only been on this dose for 6 days! Not nearly enough time for it to settle in. You need a few weeks at least.
