How to safely transition from setraline to Escitalopram

Hello,

my setraline has stopped working for me (for depression). We tried upping my dosage but still no changes after several months. I’m on 150mg setraline currently.

GP has switched me to Escitalopram.

however I’m concerned regarding the advice on how to do this transition as I want to avoid as much side effects as possible as I have a baby to look after.

advice is as stated:

reduce from 150mg to 100mg for 2 days. Then go from 100mg to 50mg for 2days.
then on the 5th day take 10mg Escitalopram.

does this sound right to everyone? Seems a bit quick of a reduction and swap?

anyone else done this? Thanks in advance for any replies x
