How to get rid of bee/wasp phobia

Hi all,

I'm in my thirties and have a huge phobia of bees and wasps. I've never been stung but always been this way - literally just lost my sh*t in the garden just now because a bee bumped into me.

I have no idea why I am like this and I do realise how ridiculous and stupid I am running away from them but I just can't seem to get over it. A wasp came into my office once and all I needed to do was reach over and open the window a little more and I just couldn't do it. So I just stood there for 20 minutes until someone else came ...!

Has anyone been able to deal with a phobia like this? I'd love to not be like this !

I'm just bumping this because I am exactly the same - I can completely recognise it's irrational but in the moment, I literally feel like if the wasp stings me/my child then we will die. So I lose all sense of perspective and just panic.

I think I probably need to do something about it because I scared them more than a wasp sting would have upset them today.

Same here too. I’ve never been stung but as a child a wasp got inside my T shirt once and I remember the feeling of it buzzing against me as it tried to escape and I was hysterical…how it didn’t sting me I’ll never know! Now if there’s one anywhere near me I can’t do anything but run! Would love to also get over the fear of them if I could.
