Why is my mental health so bad?

Hi,

I’m looking for some advice/support.

For the past 3 months, I’ve felt like I am losing my mind. I’ve always had anxiety but recently I’ve been suffering from what might be depression? I’ve been crying all the time, flitting from absolutely devastated over nothing, to angry and suicidal. There has been nothing in my life change- if anything I should be happier than ever. I’m scared I’m having some sort of mental break down. I’ve been on the waiting list for therapy since November. Has anyone else experienced this?

Did the GP do any blood tests at all? Just asking because undiagnosed underactive thyroid can give you all those symptoms, low iron, low B12, low Vitamin D can also cause a certain amount of anxiety and depression. Peri menopause can cause huge swings in mood and depression too.

I'm sorry you are struggling, there really doesn’t need to be anything hugely wrong in your life to be struck with depression & suicide idealisation though. Are you on Antidepressants at the moment? If you are and you have been feeling worse then do please contact the GP as you may need a dose increase or a change to another AD.

I hope things improve for you soon Flowers
