HI zain.im sure your headache will get better. so try not to worry too much. side effects are common even with just aspirin and no one thinks twice about popping a couple of them in their mouth. just hang on in there and perservere it will get better. i can honestly say if you stop taking them the effects will be much worse.dont read the instructions as most people only get a few or even none at all..and sometimes bring on anxiety even when they are not having any side efeects which make them feel rubbish..its not the pills normally.any adverse effects consult your doc.hope i have been of some help

Hi

I googled my way here, although a mum I seem to have coped ok with little uns and even teens. I can't cope with my citalopram and panic tho.

I agree with whoever said not to read the istructions, however, I did and I am in a state. I'm on day 5 and up to now the side effects have been mild, reduced appetite (no bad thing) and slightly more hot sweats.

Has anyone else felt a huge wave of cold, almost like cold water running through your veins? Its sort of like a panic attack but different and it took me half hour to get over it with steady long breathing and listening to soothing music. Very frightening but my phsyc told me no one ever died from a panic atack and I keep reminding myself.

Tell me i'm not alone please

hi jassy1.
I have now been on citalopram for 2 weeks and the side affects are dimishing fast. apart from the increase of panic attacks which i have had for over 15 years everything is calming down.
You are not alone and please dont stop these pills suddenly they will only make the side effects worse and you will have more horrible ones. I was on them for 6 years, 2 years ago i came off them and they helped alot..some people are just prone to depression even the happy ones.its just having alot of feelings, which is not a bad thing.

Panic attacks are not nice i know.. they can be difficult.i had to excuse myself out of an important lesson (adult education) because i had a massive one.tried so hard to ignore it but on these pills it takes a while for everything to get back to normal.what helps me is, repeating to myself 'its my body i have control not you' to the panic attack.breathing in and out.talking and laughing with someone.find a good friend who can give great hugs too..

Going to yoga can help to as it helps you to control and lengthen your breathing. have you tried 'bachs remedy'? in comes in a spray and you put 2 sprays on your tongue when you are having one. its completely natural and i must say its a god send.you find it in good health shops..its not cheap but lasts for ages!!
hope i have been of some help.
