Volunteering role in mental health…

Having struggled with my mental health (and adult child’s) I’d now love an opportunity to volunteer preferably online for a mental health forum.

Can I ask if anyone has any knowledge of this? Places I could perhaps contact, etc?

Thanks

Hi, I volunteer for SHOUT, a mental health charity which is an online texting service. You have to do 25 hours online training.

Here's the link for you to have a read.

Where are you based? I worked as a Clinical Support Manager for 12 years. Volunteers were a life line for us especially with Funding cuts year on year. I would reach out to local charities/community groups in your area to find out if they have any availability. Within the 3rd sector voluntary opportunities are also advertised on Goodmoves.com

It's great you want to give something back to support others. I'm sure you will but make sure you take good care of your own mental health whilst volunteering. Good luck 🙂

Health Unlocked is a site with many different communities online, including mental health. There are community administrators and moderators. I don't know if these are volunteers but you could ask.

If you contact your local Mind charity there are usually volunteer roles with training available :)

@NewtoHolland thanks, unfortunately in my area there were no vacancies for volunteers, which was disappointing.
