and I can't seem to lift myself out of it.

Not expecting any replies, I just needed to get it OUT. And yes there is a good reason for it- I am having a major crisis in my life and trying to organise moving in the next few weeks, finding a new job, and generally getting myself back together.

I just feel so sad

VictorianSqualor · 30/12/2007 17:35

Don't have anything to say really, but I have been in your position and posted on here, just cos I needed to say it and it made me feel better just knowing people had tken the time to answer.
Hope it gets better.

Mummy2CharlotteJean · 30/12/2007 17:36

chonky · 30/12/2007 17:36

Sorry you're feeling rough. It will pass, but it's crap in the meantime when you're going through it.

chocolatemummy · 30/12/2007 17:40

well if you are moving, getting a new job and getting yourself back together, thats amazing considering how you feel.
well done for trying so hard and well done for coming on here and talking about, I have had alot of support from her on and off over last few years

cheeset · 30/12/2007 17:40

Hi, Iv'e been where you are and I bet loads of others have as well.

You just need to write a list of all the things that are bothering you.

Go from there, see if you can sort the easy things out and leave the difficult things till later, when/if you are ready to deal with them.

It's difficult knowing what to say without knowing what your major crisis is but I hope I have helped in some way.

Sure someone will come along in a minute who can help more

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 30/12/2007 17:55

Job 1
Pro's
Love the job
Pays well

Cons
Very tiring
Lots of travel/time away
Been doing it for years so I'm getting a little bored of it now- no new challenges really

Job 2
Pro's
Home-based
Something always wanted to do

Cons
Financial risk- comission based rather than salaried
Could get bored working from home

Job 3
Pro's
This job is something I have spent my entire career training for.
I feel its what I am meant to be doing.
Would love the job which would also open up more prospects for me.
This job would give me financial security and a new challenge.

Cons
Commute of around 1h 40 mins each way per day

job 3 - no contest

cheeset · 30/12/2007 18:30

I'd go for job 3, you only had 1 con for this.

Commute of around 1h 40 mins each way per day.

Well you are doing a certain amount of travelling in the job 1 anyway and you said you are bored of it and job 3 offers you more opportunity.

Job 2 offers a lot of uncertainty doesnt it, a few grey areas. Working from home is quite lonely and you mentioned financial rick which alot of people wouldn't risk.

Its your decision but I can see why you are feeling low, this along with moving. What's your gut decision?

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 30/12/2007 18:47

Thank you ALL so much.

I initially turned it down, but am hopeful that I can renegotiate with them and may even be able to wangle a day working from home.

Thanks.....that at least has made me feel a little bit brighter x

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 30/12/2007 19:06
