ds1 is getting to be such a handful. He is arguementative, bossy, naughty, he tells lies, hits his sister for no reason, backchats like there's no tomorrow. He has been worse since starting school. He has been so bad today that even my 'any more laid back he would be horizontal' FIL had to tell him off twice this afternoon. He just can't wait for anything and throws a total strop if he can't get his own way. He stomps, jumps and runs around, thinks nothing of trashing the place even when I ask him not to. He just can't sit still for 5 minutes. He won't even sit quiet and read a book with me. I lose track of the number of toys he plays with when he is at home....he gets bored so easily.

ds1 and dd are always fighting, shouting, arguing and throwing things at each other.....I know thats what brother and sister do but its really starting to get to me now......ds1 just winds her up more and more....

DD is at the 'im too tired' to do anything stage and constantly whines at me

ds2 is at that clingy stage and screams the second I leave his sight.

Some days, I even feel like I don't want to be a mummy anymore......Everything is such a battle. By the end of the day I'm regularly in tears....

I am trying to get our new house decorated.....its very difficult with them attached to your leg whining though.......

Sorry..rant over

Aren't kids vile sometimes! Seriously, this all sounds normal to me, but the situation that you are in with moving home and everything else is stressful, and this won't be helping the way you're feeling. Could your nice, laid back fil (or someone else) take the kids out of your way for an hour or two, so that you can get some breathing space - not necessarily to decorate, but to have a bit of time to yourself?

Titania · 16/11/2004 17:11

well I asked FIL to but he insisted on keeping me company while I was doing the decorating......

That's a pity. Would he take them out to the park or somewhere for you tomorrow, do you think, if you tell him that you've got something else you need to do? You really sound as if you need a break. Or perhaps you could take the kids to the park and HE could do the decorating!

yeah right!!!! not a chance I'm afraid!!

It doesn't look as though we will be moving this weekend either.....the carpet bloke is messing me around...not even been to measure up the place yet so I doubt the carpets will be in for THIS weekend now.........

Sound a pretty normal kid to me!!! Once caught dd and ds1 fighting & dd was banging his head on the floor!!! Ds2 (6) sounds just like your ds1 atm- so i sympathise!! Hate to tell you this but THEY GROW INTO TEENAGERS!!!!!

Hi,
Don't want to sound bossy, but when i feel like the children are getting too much , I forget about the house and take them out to the beach or a really long walk, where they can let off steam, maybe fil could get on with the decorating whilst you go off and enjoy your children !

I expect ds1 is tired as he has only just started school and this is his way of showing it. Could you put him to bed earlier? If he thinks it is a punishment, so much the better. Aren't I horrible?!
