I've just put a wash on as my washing baskets are overflowing

We’ve just been away for a couple of nights and so have about 4 washes to do today!

Since I was told about this being a 'thing' when I first moved into my own place I have always made a thing about making sure I do at least one load on NYD. In the past I've even taken shower curtains down at 6am before going to work to make sure I've got something to wash 🤣.

The only superstition that makes any logical sense is the one about not walking under ladders.

I am sure it's total bullshit but my mum is quite vulnerable at the moment and I don't want to risk it. Have taken tree down though and will do some tidying. The laundry can wait until tomorrow.

When I was young it was said to be bad luck to polish your shoes on a Sunday. No idea where that came from!

I’m going the opposite way. On third load of laundry, second dishwasher load and a full declutter & clean of kitchen surfaces so far. All windows in the house ajar to let the breeze through. Hoping to also tackle the bathroom but keep getting distracted.

New year, reset, house needs tackling. Never heard of this being a thing until today on MN anyway. It’s just another day, arbitrarily assigned as a new time period by humans.

I've got a load of stuff to do, as I've been working all over Xmas. Today is the day I want to get everything done.

Superstitious nonsense. My washing machine is currently on. I've also washed myself, and put the dishwasher on.
