Would you advise medication for depression?

Short version: Depression. Seen GP. Wants to prescribe something. DH agrees. I don't want to. I've sufferer with depression since I was a teen and although go through waves I've always managed to cope with counselling when I get particularly low. This time I do feel worse though. Its not stopping.

Absolutely not defeat. They should give you a rest from the thoughts and a chance to eventually start to make changes that will help you long term.

Yes. And no intention of coming off them. It's low dose but enables me to live my life rather than exist in a well of fear and anxiety.
