Been prescribed Prozac but scared to take it...rubbish past experience with SSRIs

So I have previously tried Sertraline and that was ok at first I felt numb fairly quickly but after a week I had the worst panic attack of my life (whole body felt like something crawling on me and thinking I was dying) so I was switched to another beginning with C and after a few days I felt really bad as well.

So then I was given a non SSRI called Trazadone but that was ok but I wouldn’t wake up in the night which worried me with a then 6 year old.

A few years on now and I recently had a breast lump which was thankfully ok but the health anxiety and panic attacks took me over the edge and I rang the Dr begging for help and got given Prozac 20mg a day.

I really am too scared to take it but have to try something.

Is there anything about Prozac specifically that worries you? I don't know what sort of a dose that is, maybe others will be along to help, but I guess one option would be to ring the doctor and ask if you could start on a lower dose for a week as you had bad past reactions.

I'm on citalopram 10mg which clinically is barely therapeutic but its enough for me to keep anxiety at bay and I can still function, but side effects are acceptable.

Thanks @BananaMaltLoaf there is 10mg of Prozac but my GP said it costs £76 instead of the normal rate of £1.10 to prescribe and so they do not give it. I would just chop in half but it is capsules and not tablets and the nurse looked for tablets but everything was capsules.

I think I am scared of the anxiety being awful again before it gets better.
